Faculty of Medicine Organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 

As part of the activities of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Helwan University, and in line with the University’s commitment to promoting community engagement and public health awareness, the Faculty of Medicine organized a Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on Sunday, October 12, 2025. Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. El-Sayed Kandil – President of Helwan University, Prof. Dr. Walid El-Sorougy – Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Dr. Rasha Omar Refai – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Khaled Osama Abdel-Ghany – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development in collaboration with the Helwan Medical Students’ Association (HMSA). The event took place at the East Helwan Youth Center.
The campaign witnessed the participation of 500 beneficiary patients, and included informative sessions on the symptoms of breast cancer, methods of self-examination for early detection, as well as discussions on treatment options and ways to prevent complications.
This initiative comes as part of the Faculty of Medicine’s and Helwan University’s ongoing efforts to enhance health education, empower women to safeguard their health.
