Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Said Kandil, President of Helwan University, and the guidance of Prof. Dr. Walid Al-Sorougi, Vice President of the University; and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Refaie, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Samah Bastawy, Acting Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs,
The faculty’s community service and environmental development agency, in collaboration with the university’s anti-violence against women unit and the safe women unit at helwan university hospitals, organized a seminar on gender equality in access to healthcare services.
The event was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Samah Rabea, Professor and Head of Neurology and Psychiatry Department and Director of the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit. The seminar was held in Lecture Hall 1 of Building 1of the Faculty, at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
The seminar included lectures by: 
- Prof. Dr. Hanan Ali, Professor of Community Medicine, presented on healthcare services for elderly women.
- Dr. Omnia Said, Assistant Lecturer of Community Medicine, discussed the state initiatives to support women's health.
The student union, led by student Ruaa Al-Awady, coordinated the promotion of the seminar among students, with student Hanin Al-Asili, Secretary of the Cultural Committee, and student Maihatab Sherif, Assistant Secretary of the Cultural Committee in the Student Union..
The information presented was valuable and up-to-date, shedding light on a significant health and social issue that requires awareness among future doctors and the general public.
