A seminar for awareness about cervical cancer

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Rasha Rafai, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Dr. Samah Bostawy, Acting Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and organized by Prof. Dr. Hossam Abdel-Megid, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Prof. Dr. Nirvana Hussein, Head of the Department of Oncology, the Egyptian Cervical Cancer Screening Society, chaired by Dr. Mohamed El-Azab, with Vice President Dr. Diaa Abdel-Halim and Secretary-General Dr. Hala Adly, was invited to participate.
A discussion seminar was held to raise awareness about cervical cancer, its prevention, the importance of the HPV vaccination, and its critical role in preventing the disease. The session was interactive, with esteemed faculty members providing valuable insights to Helwan Medical School students on cervical cancer. They emphasized the significance of vaccination as a preventive measure and addressed students' inquiries on the topic.
This seminar aligns with the Presidential Initiative for the Early Detection and Treatment of Cancer. The event saw strong participation from students, who praised the clear and accessible delivery of information and expressed interest in receiving the vaccine, along with their families.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Dr. Rasha Rafai, Dean of the Faculty, commended the excellent organization of the seminar by the Student Scientific Association of Helwan Medical School. She reiterated her support for the continuation of awareness campaigns, recognizing their vital and impactful role within the community.
